Recent advances in interpretation of geophysical data 2009 EM – An Emerging Technology in Petroleum Exploration
Oslo, May 27th and 28th, Holmenkollen Park hotell
Electromagnetic surveying, EM, was commercialised in 2002 as a new exploration technology for finding hydrocarbons. Since then it has been used in sedimentary basins all over the world for the purpose of verifying the presence of hydrocarbons in traps defined by seismic data.
This technology, brought to the petroleum industry by EMGS, is now also being offered by other service providers, giving the oil companies a wide selection of companies to chose from.
Following five years of trial and failure, the time is now right to summarise our knowledge of how to interpret and get the best value from the data.
The essence of this conference is thus to present and discuss case histories with the aim of gaining a broader understanding of how to benefit from the use of this technology when exploring for hydrocarbons.
World renown experts will take part and present their own experience with EM technology.
